Inspire Me Thursday - 'Dark'

'earthbound'

recent experiment manipulating photos/layers in Photoshop,
trying to achieve a bit of a 'dark' theme, at least for me...

i've been a silent observer the last few weeks, trying to find the calm
in my inner 'storm', it's always been there but sometimes i need
a quiet compass to find it...there's a certain delicious comfort in that
place of stillness, don't you think?

asking lots of questions and listening, always listening....

warming my fingers around hot mugs of pumpkin spice coffee...

reading novels, classic art books, watching 'Ghost Whisperer'
(which inspired the digital piece above)
i'm intrigued by all things spirit, magical and spooky this week...
* * *
hoping to visit y'all real soon. until then,
be well and be inspired...

LAURA! This has to be one of my favorite pieces that you've done...there is just so much that I find appealing to look at. (that sounded weird, didn't it...you get what I mean, right?)

Haunting, but I see happiness here...the birds, if you tilt your head to the left it kind of forms a heart don't you think? Okay, an wonky heart at that.

I must agree about the stillness. I find that there are times when I just sit and am still in my thoughts w/out action. I do love the time to contemplate...and am so happy that you are finding that time as well....xoxox

I think I'm exactly in the place you've been trying to come out of.

I love the images you've been posting. The magazine hands that you turned into the most amazing piece of art that is now your header...wow! The Fall-ing photo and this new digital collage, just stunning.
Whatever you're working through it's coming through lovely in your work.

The recent move (this weekend) has put me a bit over the edge. I feel like I don't know what happened to my life or the person I used to be.
Here I sit with tons of boxes having to do it all over again.
This too shall pass.

I hope your spirits are lifting you up once again.

Big hugs,
Laurel

Earthbound is extremely moving...I'm loving this!!

I understand needing quiet, to needing to listen and to finding that inner voice and really being able to "hear" it.

And cups of pumpkin spice coffee...mmmm...me too!! Just love it! :)

Hi Laura, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a great Halloween. Did you end up switching your costume to a pirate? Ghost Whisperer...I haven't seen that film in such a long time, hope you enjoyed it!

Hi Laura! I love your new header!!! Your art is so uplifting and beautiful :) I can let you know when my next giveaway is if you would like, I know these giveaways are a little out of character for my blog but I am on my 4th year of blogging and I wanted to give something to my readers that would help them with their business and be useful.

This is wonderful! And I must admit, that on seeing this the first time before reading your post, I immediately thought of Ghost Whisperer. Well done!
