SoulCollage - first card!

Two posts in one day...hmmmm...I guess I'm trying to make up for some lost time :> Anyhow, I did manage to finish the card below this afternoon, my very first SoulCollage card - yay!

the center of my universe
a bright, enduring light to those who need me

a timewatcher, a stargazer"
(i may add/change this text later)

I have to say that it was really difficult to get into collage mode. It's a whole different process as opposed to drawing & painting my own images. I tend to 'freeze' up with the collage technique in general - not sure why but I always seem to have great resistance. However, once I clear my mind and just go with the flow, it well, flows.

Details about this card: the triangle you see formed represents me (taurus), my daughter (pisces), and my hubby (perseus). Why Perseus? Well, his star sign wasn't on the image so I chose Perseus to represent him. Remember in Greek mythology, Perseus was the hero who rescued Andromeda from the sea monster? Although my hubby isn't quite that kind of hero, however, he has been known to perform some heroic deeds :>

Okay, that's it for today. Excited to be doing this with Carla and others in this discovery circle. Come join us - what's holding YOU back?!

Amazing! I know exactly what you mean about getting into the whole collage thing. As a painter, it was a challenge to work in another medium. Once I got over the whole idea of trying to create a pretty image and just letting the image happen, it became easier. I am so, so glad you're doing this!

Laura -- this really vibrates -- is it all collage, or some digital touches? it feels like I could float INTO it ... very cool meaning, also, the way you describe it. [I am forever tweaking the verbiage that goes with my cards ... until they're printed on labels and actually stuck ONTO the backs of the cards, I feel like I have time to improve what I'm trying to express with each card.]

Thanks guys - I'm happy I decided to do this too Carla! I think I really need this right now...

And Toni, no digital whatsoever, it's all traditional cut and paste. I did use a charcoal pencil and cotton swab to smudge around the images, it gives nice depth and makes the images float :>
