'This week’s creative prompt is Healing. We have all felt pain at certain times in our lives — sometimes physical, sometimes emotional. Create art that celebrates your own personal stories of healing. Be inspired by medicine, nature, faith, or whatever may have helped you during your journey to healing.'
My offering for this week's IMT prompt couldn't have come at a better time. I've been struggling lately with a few issues since our big move to Texas 2 months ago. Some are art-related, some not.
To me, nature always seems to be the place where peace can be found and healing begins. It's been so hot here lately but as the day cools down I've been heading outside - either on bike with my daughter, alone with camera in hand or out for a good power walk when I just need to sort things out. Upon returning I find my step a bit lighter, my mood somewhat brighter and the surprise for me is that I've been turning to my journals to reflect and try to record my thoughts & feelings with images (altho I would love to fill the pages with a flow of words, my pages still tend to be more visual). Understand that I have never been a journal or diary keeper so to do this on a regular basis is a breakthrough for me! :>
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and I hope that whatever healing you are going through, peace & light stay with you on your journey.

Such a peaceful szene, I love it!
I know what you mean, Laura. Going for a walk is a great stress reliever.
Hope you are seeing your way through the issues clearly and peacefully.
Bless you!

P.S. Super drawing!!
wonderful piece... sunny and joyful, yet reflective.
thanks for sharing.
I get what you're saying. I feel the same way.
And I get your piece, too.
What a nice peaceful artwork about healing. Thanks for sharing it. Sincerely, Connie
Taking time to enjoy the marvels of nature is a sure way to feel better about anything ! How cool that you have also discovered how great it is to record those moments in a journal ! I have been "art" journaling for two years now, a few entries a week and have gotten so very much out of taking that time out for myself ! Hope you find the same !
Cheers,
Kim

Beautiful art. I find a certain sense of peace and healing in nature too.
Hello,
Your post is lovely. I also turn to nature for many types of healing or just a way of living life.
You are so thoughtful to wish others well on their healing way.
And your art holds a feeling of healing that is so tangible to me!
May journaling be a continuing intimacy that supports your heart in life.
So beautiful.Gorgeous work.
Your journal page is very peaceful and introspective. Your words about how you heal resonate with me... there is nothing like being in Nature to regain that peaceful equilibrium. Thank you for sharing!
that's beautiful!
Have you read Walking in this World by Julia Cameron? She talks about the importance of beginning the day with "morning pages" (journaling) and taking a weekly walk.
Peace and light are really what your drawing evokes. It's beautiful.
Very nice! I love your color choices and the confident way you use lines.

Your so right. Nature can be the perfect place to escape to for heal, particularly emotionally or mentally.
And welcome to Texas hope it will suit you.
I can feel the sunshine she is basking in! And the bird is comforting.
