Independence Day Rodeo & Fireworks

Hope everyone had a great Independence Day and that your weekend finished up nicely! We celebrated our very first 4th of July in Texas by attending a Wild, Wild West Rodeo - yee haw! :>

The evening was warm & balmy as we set out with friends to savor and soak up all the flavors of this annual event. The pro show lineup featured everything from bareback bronc riding and rodeo clowns to barrel racing and calf roping!

Look at this little guy on that beautiful Palomino pony...

Check out the angle on this rider - and I couldn't believe how long some of those guys hung on, what a wild ride! Yup, that's what bareback bronc riding is all about - ouch! As the sun started to set and the show was winding down, fireworks were going off on just about all points in behind the show lighting up the horizon - a perfect ending for such a fun & festive night. Btw- I'm working on a journal page and will post it as as soon as it's finished (it's about 1/2 done at this point) Until then, take care y'all!
