SoulCollage - Council Suit

Well.........I finally 'pulled' my second SoulCollage card out of me. I say pulled because that's exactly what it felt like. For the last few weeks, I was not making any progress on my deck and thought it might be due to the small amount of images I had gathered. I decided to spend my 'dry time' sourcing out more images. Then this morning after visiting this artist's blog, I was able to finish this card with one of her freebie images (thank you Connie!)

Free Spirit Gypsy - Council Suit

According to the SoulCollage book (*see footnote for info), Council Suits are the Archetypal Dimension in your deck. They are thought to choose us instead of the other way around. Some may only stay with us a short time, then move on. However, some stay with us our whole lives.

I believe this one has been with me since I was a little girl......and continues to reinforce my free spirit attitude, my need to walk my own path, to seek out new & exciting places and people, and to savor my wanderlust ways. Now that I think about it, my Mom was always reminding us that we had 'gypsy blood' in our family. However, that could be because her side of our family is Ukrainian - shawls and 'babooshkas' (head wraps or kerchiefs) were worn everyday :>

Okay, now I need to catch up with the others working through the SoulCollage process with our Discovery Group hostess Carla at Wings 4 You coaching!

SoulCollage - first card!

Two posts in one day...hmmmm...I guess I'm trying to make up for some lost time :> Anyhow, I did manage to finish the card below this afternoon, my very first SoulCollage card - yay!

my little family
COMMUNITY

"I Am One Who is
the center of my universe
a bright, enduring light to those who need me
a wife, a mother,
a timewatcher, a stargazer"
(i may add/change this text later)

I have to say that it was really difficult to get into collage mode. It's a whole different process as opposed to drawing & painting my own images. I tend to 'freeze' up with the collage technique in general - not sure why but I always seem to have great resistance. However, once I clear my mind and just go with the flow, it well, flows.

Details about this card: the triangle you see formed represents me (taurus), my daughter (pisces), and my hubby (perseus). Why Perseus? Well, his star sign wasn't on the image so I chose Perseus to represent him. Remember in Greek mythology, Perseus was the hero who rescued Andromeda from the sea monster? Although my hubby isn't quite that kind of hero, however, he has been known to perform some heroic deeds :>

Okay, that's it for today. Excited to be doing this with Carla and others in this discovery circle. Come join us - what's holding YOU back?!

SoulCollage - hunting & gathering..

I'm finally taking a break from business stuff like organizing my studio, crafting out some wares for my local shop and designing my new website and SO......ready to start in on some SoulCollage, I could really use it at this point!

This particular SoulCollage Discovery Circle is being hosted by the lovely and super talented Carl Kurt (Anonyrrie) through her Wings 4 You Coaching blog. "Here we will share the journey of looking within, listening to our intuition and creating a deck of cards to explore and nurture our souls. Using Seena Frost's book, SoulCollage: An Intuitive Collage Process for Individuals and Groups as a guide, we will work through the various chapters to learn about the SoulCollage process, the four suits in a SoulCollage deck and how to use our cards to do readings." - Carla Kurt

A few weeks ago, I starting randomly cutting/tearing out images while going through magazines, newspapers etc. and tried to not make sense out of what I was selecting to keep it as intuitive as possible. I also started writing down some things as they came to me, this one in particular is in the "I AM THE ONE WHO..." format:

"I am the one who
asks the questions
and seeks the answers
to find my truths
leaving no stone unturned
nor path undiscovered

to my soul's being"
--Laura Taylor Mark

I'm not sure how much time I can devote to this but I'm really hoping I can get a small, basic deck created. It's not too late to jump in, won't you come & join us?!
